Love of Learning... Encouraging... Adaptable... Determination

Wednesday 22nd November Newsletter

Year 2 have been busy!

A huge thank you for all the boxes that were sent in; we have now built London and burnt it down!  The children had great fun and have produced some excellent diary entries from it!  Watch this space as we will share some of their work when they've finished it.

In maths, we've been continuing with addition and subtraction and can now use a wide variety of methods.  Over the next couple of weeks, we'll be looking at measuring length and weight.  Maybe your child could practise estimating and measuring the length of items at home?  When you're cooking, notice how heavy different foods are - can your child guess which item will be heaviest?

In English, we have been reading the beautiful story of the Tear Thief.  The children have created some fantastic writing from this text and are just starting to write their own stories about a thief of their own devices!

Our pantomime trip is quickly approaching, so if you've not sent in the permission slip and money, please do.

Well done to all those children who are regularly logging on to Easimaths - it's really making a difference in class!  Please remember to complete Easimaths 3 times a week and to bring spellings in at least once a week.  Your child should also be reading at home (just for a few minutes) on most days.
