Year 4 2020 - 2021
Welcome to Year 4
The Year 4 team is Mrs Shermer, Mr Wood, Miss Pretty and Miss McCappin. We can't wait to welcome you back to school after our Christmas break. We have so many exciting things planned!
Our topic during the first half of the Spring Term is "I am Warrior" where we will be learning about all things Roman.
PE
This term, Year Four PE lessons will be on Mondays for 4W and on Tuesdays for 4S because they will have Art with Mrs Ashcroft on Monday afternoons.
On PE days, pupils should attend school wearing a smart PE kit. Dark shorts / jogging bottoms with a white t shirt and a Fulfen hoodie / sweatshirt.
On non-PE days, smart school uniform should be worn. No trainers or branded shoes please - smart school shoes only.
Hair and Jewellery
No jewellery (including fitness bands) should be worn for PE.
Earrings should be removed and not taped over.
Long hair must be tied back.
Homework
Children are expected to:
Use TT Rockstars to practise their times tables.
Practise their Letter-Join handwriting.
Learn their Super Spellings from their booklet and apply these in their written work.
Read their Accelerated Reading book and complete quizzes at school.
Additional, curriculum-related homework may also be set as well as larger open-ended tasks or projects.
Snacks
During the Spring term, snacks will need to be provided from home. They will not be available to buy from the kitchen. Children will also need to remember to bring in a full, labelled water bottle each day. Please note that bottles should not contain juice or squash.
Important Information
When we return to school, the children will not be able to bring in pencil cases from home. We will provide all stationery.
School will be open from 8:30 to 8:55 from dropping pupils off. Year 4 children will enter the school across the KS2 Playground and through the 4S classroom door. They will come out at 3:20 through the 4S door.
Please can all pupils ensure that they have an Art shirt in their lockers at all times to protect clothing because the sharing of school aprons is not allowed at this time.
