Health
Obesity rates among primary aged children have increased by 4.5% over the last two years according to the 2020/21 report by the The National Child Measurement Programme. As a school, we promote a healthy lifestyle to ensure that children at Fulfen lead active, healthy lifestyles and understand how to make healthy choices.
Being Active
We promote active playtimes and lunchtimes as well as including active strategies within the classroom. We aim for children to achieve the government recommendation of an average of 60 minutes of activity per day over the week (with at least 30 minutes of this within school). Play leaders regularly organise activities on the playground to engage all children in being more active.
Healthy Eating
We encourage children to bring healthy snacks to school such as:
Fresh/dried fruit Vegetables/salad (e.g. carrot sticks, tomatoes) Breadsticks Rice cakes Crackers Popcorn (with low salt/fat content) |
Small cubes of cheese Small slice of malt loaf Sugar free jelly Crumpet Yoghurt Bread (toast/pitta bread fingers) |
