Year 5's trip to the Space Centre!
Year 5 had a fantastic day at the Space Centre in Leicester. We enjoyed watching a presentation called 'Astronaut' in the planetarium, looked around all parts of the centre including the rocket tower, became robotic engineers in our workshop 'NXT Mars Rover challenge' and took part in many other games, activities and challenges!
The children have learnt such a lot from their experience for example: how to become an astronaut, how scientists explore space, the timeline of the 'space race', information about each of the planets and much, much more!
We will be continuing our Space topic for the rest of this term. The children will be exploring what they have learnt at the Space Centre in more depth. Who knows, maybe we have some future astronauts at Fulfen who will join the planned 2035 manned Mars mission?
Here are some photos of our visit.
