Standon Bowers Day 4
Day 4 of Standon Bowers is over and the children have really exceeded our expectations today. After our usual morning of breakfast and chores, all children had the opportunity to participate in a high- ropes challenge. This activity involved children leaping from a 13.5 metre stand (while connected to a harness) with their team waiting for them at the bottom. We were amazed with the bravery shown by every child today. Once again, children who started the day scared of heights, have gone to bed feeling incredibly proud for conquering the 13.5 metre jump! Similarly, the children had to conquer the 'Gladiator Challenge'. The Gladiator Challenge was a vertical rope course which involved the children working in teams to climb as high as possible.
However, the real highlight of the day was our final evening activity: the campfire. We have ended the week by singing songs, telling stories and reflecting on an amazing week around a campfire and underneath a sky full of stars.
It truly has been a fantastic week and we are all so sorry to see it come to an end. The children have really represented the school brilliantly and we cannot wait to let them share their experiences with their school friends and families.
Quotes of the day:
1) "I haven't had a favourite activity, it has all been amazing!"
2) "This has been my best week EVER!"
Thank you to all the children for such a great week.
