This week we have started Phase 2 Phonics.

Our sound of the week is 's'.

Song - sausages are sizzling s, s, s

Ditty - start at the snakes head and slide down to his tail 

The children have enjoyed practising the 's' sound, writing 's' and thinking of words beginning with 's' !

How can you help at home?

- Practise singing our song - sausages are sizzling s, s, s
- Practise writing our sound 's' in different ways e.g. chalk, rainbow writing, paint 
- See if your child can think of any words beginning with our 's' sound 
- Practise bouncing out words beginning with 's' e.g. sit, sat, sock
