Maths
In maths this half term, we are continuing to look at Fractions. In particular, we are looking at adding and subtracting fractions, improper fractions and mixed numbers that have different denominators and finally comparing fractions, decimals and percentages. We are also going to look at converting between improper fractions and mixed numbers. Click on the links below and work through each activity. You should aim to do one activity a day to keep those skills simmering! If you’ve completed all of these activities (or if you just want an extra challenge), then try out some of the problems in the ‘maths challenges’ document at the bottom of the page.
These activities are extra to what we are doing in school:
Fraction Oak Academy Activities:

In our topic, we are looking at Space.
We'd like you to find out everything that happened during the Space Race during the 1950s and 1960s. What was life like then? How does that compare to now? Who was the Space Race between? Why was it called a Cold War?
Click on this BBC Bitesize link: Space Race - USA and USSR and create your own timeline identifying major developments in space travel.
