Year 6 2016 - 2017

Welcome

A huge welcome from the children and staff of 6G and 6E.  We will be regularly updating this page with news and information so come back for another visit.

Useful Information

PE is every alternate Thursday afternoon for the whole afternoon.  This will enable children to develop skills and then apply them in a game situation.

From March 2017 we will be following the exciting new 'Super Spellings' scheme.  Your child will be given individual spellings at a suitable level of challenge challenge for them.  Spelling books must be brought into school each day, as the children could be tested on their spellings at any time.  Your children will usually be tested on 5-10 spellings at a time.  Please help them to learn the spellings.  See the attached parent guide for more information.

Homework is given out on Friday to be handed in the following Friday.  The work will related to concepts being taught in the classroom that week.  Please note the work will sometimes be saved for the on Purple Mash website.

Reading record books will be checked often.  Please ensure your child is reading every day.  30 minutes is an ideal reading time.
